Daniel Siad, a French model recruiter who introduced young women to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, was discovered dead inside his home in Colombes, a suburb of Paris. Speaking to CNN in an interview published in June, Siad shared his perspective: “I trusted him and believed this guy was a professional person.” He further explained, “I never heard anything from anyone I introduced to him who came back to me that they had a bad situation.”

Siad had previously claimed that Epstein served as a casting director for both Victoria’s Secret and the modeling agency MC2, though CNN found no supporting documentation for this assertion. The Paris Public Prosecutor’s office announced that their comprehensive Epstein-related investigations, initiated in February and covering allegations of human trafficking alongside criminal conspiracy, would proceed without interruption.

“Daniel Siad was the subject of special investigative techniques, including telephone intercepts, although to date these have not produced evidence justifying his immediate arrest,” the office stated.

To date, twenty-four women have either come forward voluntarily or been identified through a thorough review of available information combined with a public call for victims issued by prosecutors. A 2018 email from Siad showed him searching for a “good looking young assistant” for the financier. In another communication, Siad forwarded a photograph of a woman to Epstein, characterizing her as “very polite” and someone possessing “potential” either as a “model” or “assistant.” Epstein’s response was simply: “Too old.”

According to DOJ files, Siad consistently sent Epstein photographs of young women he encountered while traveling, with several images featuring provocative poses. CNN affiliate BFMTV reported that Siad’s name appears more than two thousand times within the Department of Justice’s Epstein documentation.

“If it wasn’t for him, my life would have unfolded completely differently,” Svetlana Pozhidaeva, a Russian-born model who previously told CNN that Siad introduced her to Epstein and that the disgraced financier abused her, said on Wednesday.

Pozhidaeva noted that Siad’s passing meant he could no longer face accountability. “I wanted for justice to be served, for there to be some kind of investigation and achieve some closure,” she expressed.

Ménya Arab-Tigrine, Siad’s attorney, released a statement on Wednesday indicating that his client had been prepared to “subject himself to the grueling media spotlight…to see the truth come to light.” Arab-Tigrine added, “We must await the autopsy results to confirm whether his body simply gave out,” emphasizing that his client remained innocent and had not been prosecuted or “formally implicated in any legal proceedings.”
