Trump shares renderings of a towering presidential library

President Donald Trump unveiled visual designs of his prospective presidential library on Monday, providing a glimpse into how the planned Florida-based center might honor his legacy. The nearly two-minute video, posted on Truth Social, highlights a skyscraper that dominates the Miami skyline, with the Trump name prominently featured at its apex. Visitors are shown entering via a golden arch embellished with the presidential emblem, while the interior showcases exhibits that recreate White House settings, political iconography, and a display of aircraft, including a model of Air Force One.

“I don’t believe in building libraries or museums,” Trump remarked during an executive order ceremony at the White House. “This concept could be office, but it’s most likely gonna be a hotel with a beautiful building underneath, a 747 Air Force One in the lobby, which is going to be a trick.”

The architectural renderings, crafted by Miami-based firm Bermello Ajamil, depict elements such as a gilded Oval Office and the Rose Garden, as well as the “Presidential Walk of Fame” on the West Colonnade. A massive ballroom, envisioned to replace the East Wing, is also part of the design. Key moments from Trump’s political career are subtly integrated, including a golden escalator mirroring the one he famously descended during his 2024 campaign announcement. Inside a grand auditorium, a towering golden statue of the president with his first raised hand is portrayed, echoing his response to the July 2024 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

While the visuals, likely AI-generated, remain uncertain as to whether they signify completed blueprints, Trump has hinted at plans for a luxury Qatari jet transformed into Air Force One, destined for his library post-presidency. However, the model in the video retains the current baby blue and white color scheme rather than the incoming red, white, and gold palette he has selected for future aircraft.

Eric Trump, the president’s son and head of the library’s foundation, praised the designs on X, stating, “This landmark on the water in Miami, Florida will stand as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known.”

The proposed site, chosen after evaluating multiple Florida locations, is 2.63 acres adjacent to the Miami Freedom Tower—a historic processing center for Cubans fleeing communism in the 1960s. The land was formally transferred to the foundation through a Cabinet vote in 2025, following a temporary legal halt due to an activist’s lawsuit alleging a violation of Florida’s open government law.

Trump, originally from New York, legally established residency in Florida in 2019, relocating his permanent address to the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach. This story has been updated with further insights, with contributions from CNN’s Molly English and Samantha Waldenberg.
