A 20-something woman was sexually assaulted by multiple men near a church in Epsom following her departure from a nightclub in Surrey. The attack took place between 2:00 and 4:00 BST on Saturday, with the victim reportedly being followed after leaving the Labyrinth Epsom venue.

Police Investigation in Early Stages

Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of the offenders, though they are actively pursuing leads to track them down. Detective Inspector Aine Matthews emphasized that the case is deeply troubling for the victim, who is receiving support from specialized units.

“We understand this is an extremely distressing incident and the victim is being supported by specialist officers,” said Det Insp Aine Matthews.

Seeking Witnesses

Officers are working quickly to gather information about the suspects. “Our investigation is in its early stages,” Matthews added. “We are working at pace to develop our picture of the suspects, and we will share details as soon as we are able to.” The police are appealing for anyone in the vicinity during the specified time who may have noticed the woman in distress to come forward.

“As part of our investigation, we would like to speak to anyone who was in the area between 2am and 4am and may have seen or spoken to a woman in her 20s in distress.”
