Ex-England and Liverpool footballer Andy Carroll faces trial next year ‘after breaching non-molestation order by repeatedly calling TOWIE star ex-wife Billi Mucklow’

Ex-England and Liverpool footballer Andy Carroll faces trial in 2025 after breaching non-molestation order

Andy Carroll, the ex-England and Liverpool striker, is set to face trial in 2025 for allegedly violating a non-molestation order with his former TOWIE co-star Billi Mucklow.

The 36-year-old, now playing for National League South club Dagenham and Redbridge, is accused of repeatedly contacting Ms Mucklow without reasonable cause on March 11, 2025.

Arrest and court adjournment

Carroll was detained at Stansted Airport on April 27, 2024, following an alleged breach of the order. The court injunction, issued by Chelmsford Justice Centre on October 10, 2024, typically prevents someone from harassing another person.

Although Carroll was expected to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday, he and his legal team did not attend the initial plea and preparation session. In his absence, Judge Chris Morgan announced: ‘I’m setting the trial for January 18 next year.’

‘For all we know he could be in France or Dubai, who knows?’

When the prosecutor, Leanne Hemming, mentioned the hearing was scheduled for tomorrow, the judge responded: ‘I will delay the arraignment of Andrew Carroll to March 4.’

Carroll, who recently had surgery on a broken bone and ligaments, last appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on February 4 using crutches. He indicated he would contest the breach of the non-molestation order against Ms Mucklow.

He had previously attended court on crutches in February, but missed a scheduled Crown Court hearing on March 3.

Divorce and career history

The couple separated in July 2024 after a two-year marriage marked by conflict. Divorce proceedings began in September of that year, and they share three children: sons Arlo and Wolf, and daughter Marve.

Ms Mucklow appeared on The Only Way is Essex from 2011 to 2013, with a brief return in 2018.

Carroll, who moved from Newcastle to Liverpool for a then-record £35 million in 2011, also played for West Ham, Reading, and West Brom. He earned nine caps for England between 2010 and 2012.

After spells at French clubs Amiens and Bordeaux, he joined Dagenham and Redbridge in July 2024.

Current relationship and legal context

Carroll is currently dating make-up artist Lou Teasdale, 42, whom he reportedly met at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2024.

‘A man has been charged with breaching a non-molestation order. Andrew Carroll, 36, of Epping, was arrested on April 27 and the alleged offences relate to an incident in March this year.’

According to a police spokesperson, Carroll was flagged by officers at Stansted Airport shortly after landing from France. He was questioned and briefly detained, causing some disruption among other passengers.

The penalty for breaching a non-molestation order can range from a fine to up to five years in prison, depending on the severity of the case.
