Authorities confirmed a child’s death following a suspected dog attack in Dormanstown, Redcar. Police arrived at Hardale Grove shortly after 1:30 PM BST after receiving reports of a child in danger. Upon their arrival, the child was found deceased, with officials indicating the cause was likely a dog bite.

Cleveland Police stated that one dog was killed on the street, while another at the residence was detained. The BBC inquired about the child’s age and the breeds of the involved dogs. The North East Ambulance Service deployed three teams, and one individual was hospitalized for additional care.

“This is a distressing and tragic event, and we are with the child’s family in their sorrow,” said Emily Harrison, the district commander for Redcar and Cleveland. “Anyone with concerns or information should contact an officer immediately.”
